Khardung La Pass in Ladakh
Lying at an elevation of 5359 m above the sea level, Khardung La Pass is the gateway to Nubra valley and Shyok Valleys. Arguably the world’s highest motorable road, this pass is one of the most-popular attractions of Ladakh. The pass offers magnificent views of the vicinity and is positioned at a distance of around 40 km from the Leh town. Also known as the ‘Pass of Lower Castle’, it was opened for automobiles in 1988, and since then the area is a preferred destination for expeditions by motor biking enthusiasts. Biking enthusiasts from all around the world visit this pass for a lifetime memorable experience. Once you reach the mountain pass, you can spot differently-colored Tibetan prayer flags fluttering and adding charm to the already enchanting view.
